Many times in our lives we are asked to let go, and often it doesn’t come easy.

I wrote this poem from a mother’s heart, but I believe that no matter where we are in life the principle of letting go applies to all of us. Ultimately it’s the key to liberating us to move through growing pains.

What I’ve learned is that miracles happen when we dare to let go and let God carry the torch of our burdens.

Letting go isn’t something I master,
But something I have to practice daily.

Letting go is
Learning to “hold” you in a different way…

Letting go isn’t about loving you less;
It’s recognizing that I can’t do it for you…

Letting go isn’t about foreseeing the worst-case scenarios;
It’s about knowing that your life will have plenty of miracles, too.

Letting go isn’t about giving up protecting you,
But it’s allowing you to face the reality of life because you can.

Letting go isn’t about cutting the cord of our deep love;
It’s about realizing that I have no control over you.

Letting go isn’t about overcoming my powerlessness to help,
But accepting that the outcome can’t be forced…

Letting go isn’t about judging the struggle of emotions,
But allowing us to be human beings…

Letting go doesn’t make things happen,
But allowing things to flow as they will…

Letting go isn’t about taking over your challenges,
But about supporting you in every choice you make…

Letting go is also remembering to take care of myself,
So I can make the best choices to save myself from falling apart.

Letting go isn’t about trying to manipulate our destiny,
But about accepting that each person has his own Soul’s journey.

Letting go is loving you even more…
